6th Month

Accutane: 80mg once a day

Wow, its been FOREVER since I last updated this thing. I guess I got sick of seeing the same results every week, and figured you guys did to, so I told myself I wouldnt update this for a month, then that sort of turned into almost 2 months. Sorry about that guys.

Well where to start... Its been an up and down battle with the acne since my last update. I went to my dermatologist after my 5th month was up, and my face was still casually breaking out. So he recommended a 6th month because he said I technically needed an extra 5mg every day for my actual bodyweight:MG dosage ratio.
So I go on Accutane for my 6month, and what do you know, maybe the doc does know something after all. For the most part my 6th month has been by far my best yet. Not to much break out *knocks on wood*, and thens seem to just be getting better. Hope it continues in this direction. I go into the dermatologist Nov. 14, so I have roughly 7days dosage left until my full 6month is up. All this hard patience, stress, everything, finally all coming to an end, and hopefully will never have to go on Accutane or any other Acne medication again.

Besides the 6th month also being my clearest month, also has been the most side effect month. My arms (forearm, tricep muscle area, and side of my arm) have all been drying up, having a rash, or just flaking. I have been putting Cetaphil on it, and that seems to do the job. Now, I dont know if this could have anything to do with it, which I doubt it does, but just seemed to happen the same time as my 6month. My lower pelvis muscle area, (hernia area) has been hurting. I do lift weights, and the doctor thinks it can be from that, but doesnt make sense why it would hurt all of a sudden. It especially hurts after I run, so I dont know if Accutane could cause this muscle to be tender or what not, but just thought Id throw that in there.
Shaving still sucks. My dermatologist prescribed me a cream that is suppose to help with that, but iam bad on remembering to put it on. Still by far the best way to shave while on Accutane is with an electric razor. And try not to press down to hard when shaving, or your skin will be very aggrivated.
Also as you can tell, I have redness on my face, the Dermatologist said this is from the Accutane, and should dissapear once Iam off Accutane; which is good news, because the redness doesnt help the illusion that my face is much worse then it is.
My bloody noses have been much more reaccuring this 6th month. Its a every day thing that my nose is bloody, not neccessarly dripping blood, but always bloody if I stick a tissue in it; and at night the blood gets into my sinus, so iam constantly coughing up crap the next day. Boy Iam gonna miss that... /end sarcasm.

Well thats it for this week, I will update this after I talk with the dermatologist; and give you my last "weekly" update. Seems like just yesterday I started, and looking at some of these pictures of when I started, I can truly say I would do it all over again. I would take Accutane if I re-lived all of this, infact I would of taken it alot sooner... All the bs side effects you have to deal with it pay off in the end hopefully for everyone, and for me. Its so much nicer to not be as self concious of if the people are staring at me or my Acne, and just is reassuring that my face isnt completely broken out anymore.

If you would ever have any questions on Accutane, or thinking about going it, or just wanna chat, feel free to email me at Deadmaninchhh316@aol.com
